The Program

Passion, purpose, and precision. A growth mindset willing to learn again. This is what it means to practice a life of excellence, and it is what three days and thirty two miles on the Appalachian Trail will forge in you.

The leader who trains only the mind arrives at the trailhead half formed. The leader who trains only the body has endurance without wisdom. It is the leader who forges the mind, the body, and the character together who is ready to lead, on a mountain and in a boardroom. There is no difference.

Most leadership development hands you a workbook and a conference room and calls it transformation. The Adventure Hike hands you a trail, thirty two miles, and the truth. There is nowhere to hide once the trailhead is behind you and the work begins.

Three months come before the trail ever does. One on one ICF PCC executive coaching with Court Whitman to sharpen your mind. To examine your character. To prepare the leader who is about to be tested. A structured train up plan breaks in your boots and conditions you under a loaded pack. Then comes three days on the Appalachian Trail, guided by Court Whitman, a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret who has led teams through terrain far harder than this trail and has nothing left to prove, only something left to give.

The next crisis in your organization will not wait for you to be ready. Neither will mile twenty of this trail.

Who Belongs on This Trail

Maybe you have always wanted to spend real time in the wilderness, and the Appalachian Trail has been calling your name for years. This is where you start.

Maybe you have logged some day hikes and backpacking trips, and you are starting to see the correlation between what the trail demands and your professional growth. This is where you go deeper.

Maybe you are an experienced hiker looking for a new way to challenge yourself, in your daily leadership and on the trail. This is where you find it.

Growth requires disciplined obedience and practice. Every day, regardless of how many miles you have logged, requires a beginner's mindset to learn and grow. That mindset is the foundation of every leader who finishes this hike. It is also the foundation of this program.
